I was reading through the site and came up with a few fond memories that I thought might jog some peoples minds.

- convincing your Trishaw driver that Trishaw races with the other RAAF brats were a fun thing
- buying and consuming little Gin and vodka sachets from GAMA at Komtar
- swimming at the beach behind the Dalat school at the bottom of Sea Home
- swimming at the water catchment behind Vale of Tempe (past the "Trespassers will be shot" sign)
- Catching the LOP to Butterworth (what the hell did LOP stand for anyway?)
- The Penang Hill run (or walk for most of us)
- Cross Country running as a school elective
- Monkey Beach
- The Temple of a Thousand Thieves (Steps)
- Sneaking into the pool at the Golden Sands
- Mr. Poon and his Combi full of crap
- Rotis at the Hillside Makan and the awesome Hamburger Van (the Roti man was still there in 1998)
- Bombing crabs with coconuts on the beach
- Chilli Crab at the Crab Temple
- Chicken Chops and Satays at Fettes Park
- Sneaking behind the stage at the Hostie.
- Fireworks
- The yoyo fad

You just can't explain it to people who haven't been there...

I went back to Penang in 1998 and couldn't believe how the place had changed. All the Kampong villages had been replaced by high rise apartments.

I'm now working as an Account Manager for an American software company in Melbourne.
