My name was Debbie HORROCKS (now Pope). Loads of memories - and a few photos. I remember the day they evacuated us from school early due to the Race Riots breaking out - didn't go back for a couple of weeks. Santa being helicoptered in for the school fete - have photos somewhere. I can remember lining up each Monday morning to sing the Malaysian National Anthem, School song and some other "Noggy" song as it was rather rudely referred to then. 'Red Rover' and 'Brandy' on the Quadrant - truly vicious games, but fun! The ever-present skipping ropes and "Elastics" during recess and lunch. 'Magnolia' ice-creams and flavoured milk at recess. Better than the plain milk you got in Australia.

Lunch time was Rounders on the oval or off to recorder classes. What a pain they were! The weekly school spelling competition with the prize being the model replica of the ship 'The Endeavour', awarded under great pomp and ceremony by the headmaster at Assembly. Being in the same class as Mark ELY for 2 years and finding he was a cousin. Didn't stop us arguing, but not as much! Never forget Linden CHAPMAN whose Dad was killed near the RAAF hostel in a car accident - she had to go home suddenly - very sad. Last I heard she was very happy as a Nursing Sister in Canberra and had a little boy. Met Cameron CUDAHY on a blind date in Darwin years ago - stunned and amazed to find we were at the RAAF school together. Funnier things do happen! Last I heard he was in the RAAF himself. Sharon YOUNG was heading up CORPORATE TRAVEL in Adelaide and Sydney last I heard. Mark and Ian ELY are in Queensland - Mark has a couple of lovely daughters and is into computers. I am in contact with their Dad. Often wonder about the Tomkinsons, Kanes, Caseys, Alburys and dozens of others. I believe old copies of the AUSTRAL are still in possession of various Army veterans. Anyone wanting them, I could probably still track some down - mine were lost in Cyclone Tracy in Darwin - 1974 Enough for now, look forward to hearing from any old schoolmates

I had a brother - Tony POPE also attending the school. 1st year High School that year. Unfortunately Tony was killed in 1976 when he was just 20. I am happy to chat to old friends of his.

Cheers
