Wow , I'm so excited to find this site after so many years. My recollections of my primary school years seem a little weird to my 11 year old daughter, she couldn't believe that we had such a long bus trip every day.

I lived in Bagan Ajam in Butterworth. I remember having big fights with my brother Drew over who would be first in the bus queue , the first kid got to sit in the box seat across from the driver---the bus stopped out front of our house & I remember creeping out in the early morning darkness to put my port first in the line--it does seem silly now but it was fun then.

I also recall the sometimes long waits for the customs guys , we sometimes had the chance to buy a chocolate icy pole while we waited , we always had to stay on the bus, if we were stuck behind a durian truck we would moan & groan.
I loved riding my bike down to the beach road,I would spend hours there, we had quite a big gang in Bagan Ajam.We werent very popular at the local Kampong--something to do with stealing coconuts!

I used to hate it when the guys came round with the mossie spray, I dont know what was in it -it stank. We used to play in the monsoon drains as well--I shudder to think what was in them!!

Grade 4,5,&6 were great fun, I loved it.
I loved swimming in the Dolphin Club, & buying a glass of coke with an icy pole --for a coke float of course

I now live in Black Rock, Melbourne with my husband, Stewart Vickery and our daughter Freya. We love sailing with a passion, I race my own yacht And have done lots of ocean miles over the years.

I manage a shop when I'm not sailing . I'd love to hear from any old class mates---it was weird going through high school with "civvies" who didnt understand my past--I would have liked to share my stories then but no-one was interested!!!
