After RAAF School Penang I joined the RAAF and spent 21 years as an Intelligence Officer. I served all around Australia and overseas, including peacekeeping in Egypt (but had no postings back to Butterworth). In 1982 I visited Butterworth on a Hercules and went out to see the old school.
In recent years I have lived in Canberra where I retired from the RAAF and stayed on as a civilian in Defence intelligence. My wife, Pam, and I moved to Melbourne in 2007.
Our son Tim (Carvosso) was in the primary section of the school. He was in 4H in 1977 and 5B in 1978. He currently lives in Canberra. Our other son Ben went to a pre-school while we were in Penang. He is now a teacher in Melbourne.
Our years in Penang are fondly remembered. It was a great place to teach because the students, the teachers and the place were all fantastic.
