I hope you enjoy the new blog – an idea inspired by the emails I receive from interesting people, some of which I will share with you. Always with permission, of course!
Also, I thought it a good idea to utilise the blog for sharing with you any other interesting tidbits I come across from time to time which may not necessarily fit into a category on the website. For example, I don’t include too much there by way of displaying recent developments on the island. These I can share here. I will also include profiles of interesting people, news, media reports – the scope is wide.
In case you made your way here in isolation from the home site, you can head back to RAAF School Penang by clicking on that link you’ve just passed. There you will find a lot of information and photographs of the school on Penang Island, Malaysia, which functioned as a pre-school, primary and secondary school for dependants of Royal Australian Air Force personnel deployed at Butterworth from 1962 to 1988. Prior to 1962 schooling was conducted at the Mayor’s residence and there is also some detail about that on the site.
